    Hi guys,

I am trying to get some background info on the 4810t, as I plan on purchasing one in the near future.

The exact model in question is the 4810T-6937 Core 2 Duo SU9400

    http://ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=39704&vpn=LX.PBA06.005&manufacture=Acer

The laptop seems perfect for what i am thinking, long battery, thin and light, decent display and keyboard. However, after browsing the forums and reading some reviews on I fear the laptop will not be powerful enough for
    me.

Can i get some feed back from some owners of similar models, as to what this machine is capable of? I will mainly focus on the following tasks:

    1. Browsing the internet.
    2. HD video, 720p 1080p?
    3. Writing long reports, (excel, word, powerpoint)
    4. Downloading large torrents.
    5. Social networking, msn, facebook etc...

I am sure the machine will be able to handle most of those tasks individually, however i am worried that even with the SU9400, it will choke when i try to do 2-3 at the same time.
A typical use case for me would involve 3-4 items on that list concurrently.
I have also heard stories about video playback failing. I like to watch movies, not neccsiarly in HD, but HQ youtube failing would defiantly be a problem!

What kind of performance bottlenecks am i looking at?

    Thanks Guys,

    @Anomander

I don't own this device, but I know from reading the boards, that it will handle this easily. Just remove bloatware and keep the system in good shape. Check Timeline Tweaks for further info how to optimize.

Yes, it will handle it, even the SU3500 could handle it. just that the video playing might be an issue at 1080p resolution without tweaks.

1080p may not be perfect, but it should be damn good if you set up your media player/codecs correctly. as for everything else, it should be okay. If you can, i suggest you clean install some version of Windows 7, it runs much faster than vista, and overall is a significantly better OS.
