Hi,
I've just read the last 15 pages of this forum without finding any solution to my problem.
So, yesterday i closed the screen of my laptop. So the laptop goes to hybernation (the soft one)
This morning at 8 i've earded my laptop fan for few second. I think the battery was empty and the computer goes to shut down Vista.
This afternoon i want to boot the laptop and nothing... blackscreen but power ligth on.
I tried this
Battery 100% : NOK
Hard reset : the trick of pressing 40 sec the power button without AC et batt : NOK
Remove the HDD and booting : NOK
Remove and put the RAM : NOK
Without AC : NOK
Without Batt : NOK
So what does i have to do ? I'm leaving for holidays tomorow and i don't have laptop... and i need to work...
I Need help, please
Thank you,
Vodnok,

The BIOS might be screwed up. There is a certain sequence of buttons to be pressed to get to the emergency flash mode. Try googling for Insyde BIOS recovery or something.
-
I find on this forum the sequence
The only thing i've got from the acer site is : JM4151123.exe; GPC_V123.bin
Does i have to rename GPC_V123.bin as GPC_V123.FD ? -
You should check further links to understand the procedure better first IMO
Edit:
I also think that f_l_a_s_h_i_t.exe from the dos directory must be on the USB drive, too.
Edit2
The forum filter deletes the part after fla so I had to put underlines in.
Edit3:
here is another link:
http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=304332
Edit4:
Apparently you can put multiple copies of the BIOS file on the USB drive and rename them differently, so that you have a higher chance to pick the right name. You could try GPC.bin or GPC.fd
Edit5:
The first time I read about this recovery mode was here:
http://macles.blogspot.com/2008/08/acer-aspire-one-bios-recovery.html -
The sequence touch does nothing.
The power button isn't blinking and the usb key seems to not be acceded. The light is red on it but not blinking. It's use to blink when there is a transfert to the key.
I don't understand how an hybernation can corrupt BIOS ? ;-) ? -
I need to find the correct name for the bios file ? How can i find the correct name ?.
-
-
Yes the red light from USB was lighting but no blinking so no transfert.
Well, i'm leaving for holiday in 8h (and i have to sleep right now) ;-) I was forced to make to my old laptop made a come back from hell. Think it will be enought for work on holiday. My Timeline is already missing to me ;-(
When i come back i'll googling like never to find a issue to that problem.
Thank you for help ! -
Hi,
I've just came back from holiday. I tried to boot my laptop that stayed here during 2 weeks and... no miracle it's not botting anyway
It's very strange when i think about how it appenned.
I make a recap :
1/ Day 1 : latptop working good
2/ Day 1 : closing the screen (so the hybernation start) : Soft Hybernation (all data keep in ram)
3/ Day 2 (morning) : (3-4AM) I hearded the fan of the laptop working during +/-1min
4/ Day 2 (afternoon) : Try to boot and no boot
For solving i've tried
Battery 100% : NOK
Hard reset : the trick of pressing 40 sec the power button without AC et batt : NOK
Remove the HDD and booting : NOK
Remove and put the RAM : NOK
Without AC : NOK
Without Batt : NOK
So i was on "flashing bios" via spécial sequence touch without any success. But i don't if it was the sequence was not right. And the problem of what name does i have to put on the bios file...
I Hope that someone will help me cause here i don't know what to do. I've changed the HDD so no warenty... i'm ed ! ;-)
