Hi,
I have issues with the speakers in my Aver TimelineX 4820TG: They are cracking when they play a sound and I wasn't able to resolve this with driver updates. Now I wondered if anybody has ever disassembled the speakers. Especially the guys who have inserted a backlit keyboard and took the power from the speakers might have experience here. If it is comparably easy as changing the keyboard I might give it a shot!

Does it crack on every sound or just some parts in a song? If it cracks on every sound then I don't know the solution to it.
I had to disable "Surround Sound" or "Audio Enhancer" in Realtek's software to get rid of the cracking in some songs; then it totally disappeared for me. -
I have replaced a speaker. To get at the speakers, you have to completely separate the halves of the computer, as if you were removing the motherboard. It is a lot more involved than changing the keyboard, which can be done by releasing a few tabs.

That's what I was afraid of
I mean, I have disassembled my old laptop but it was my old one and I wasn't too afraid of killing it... Where did you buy the speakers though?

MK electronics in Germany.
