It has the 6550m GPU.
I can't find Overdrive in CCC to overclock it.
I tried installing the latest version and the acer version.
It's not included..
What should I do?
-
Have you tried MSI Afterburner or EVGA Precision yet?
These tools are the best and easyest way to overclock your graphicscard!
The 6550 core is based on the 5650 with DirectX 11 and the 5650 can be Overclocked very easy
Give it a try... -
I've tried both. Along with rivatuner, atitool, and gputool.
No luck!
The closest I got was with afterburner. I was able to downclock the core and memory, but not OC.
Also I cant touch fanspeed or shader clock.
Any clue?
I think I need a specialized driver.. -
I know that some GPU Bioses are locked...but that no Tool works...mmmm
Another way is to extract the Bios with GPU-Z and clock it with a Bios Tool like
RBE from RBE - Radeon BIOS editor but very risky... -
Im sure theres another method. I'd do that as a last resort.
However.. wouldn't the risk be mitigated by the inclusion of integrated graphics to the equation?
BIOS flash fails, use intel graphics to reflash original.
It's not as if the BIOS flash will cause the card to smoke and catch flames.
Either way I think that's unnecessary and i'd much rather wait til somebody else whose gotten it working chimes in
EDIT: That said, I cant even copy the original bios with GPU-Z.
It says BIOS reading is not supported on this device... -

AMD GPU Clock Tool works for me.
You could also try unlocking the clocks in MSI Afterburner 2.1. Change these in the .cfg file in the program folder:
UnofficialOverclockingEULA = I confirm that I am aware of unofficial overclocking limitations and fully understand that MSI will not provide me any support on it
UnofficialOverclockingMode = 1
This unlocked the clock sliders up to 780/1040MHz (earlier they were stuck at a max of 600/800).
Edit: Unfortunately,
(1) AMD GPU Clock Tool locks the clocks to 710/1100 (in my case) and they don't downclock even at idle.
(2) MSI Afterburner lets the clocks downclock at idle, but the memory slider only goes up to 1040 (when my memory is stable at 1100).
Edit 2: Haha, I just started Afterburner again (I closed it with my clocks set at 710/1040) and now the sliders go all the way up to 925/1355! Afterburner it is for me then. -

Cool!! It worked. Clocked at 725/990 right now.
Can't seem to go higher with mem clocks. Even 995 gives me wicked artifacts.
I'm gonna play some crysis 2 MP demo to test the stability.
Are you on the Acer driver's or the latest straight from AMD?
Thanks BTW
P.S. I think he's referring to 2D clocks, not the idle of 100/150.
There should be 3 levels of clocks. the idle, 2d, and 3d/gaming.
My 2D seems to be 450/800. -
Idle and 2D clocks are the same thing for this card- it should be 100/150.
Apart from that there are other combinations- 3D clocks, UDV clocks and combinations like 300/300, 375/400 etc.
AIDA64 or Everest display at least some of them.
