    Hello all,

I have been a proud owner of the Acer TimelineX 4820TG-7805 for a few months now and i must say that i have had absolutely no issues with it so far!

As we all know, it is tax season and i am entitled to a small refund (student w/part time job) which would enable me to purchase a decent sized SSD, pay off a small debt and still have some left over to throw into my savings.

I have wanted SSD for my 4820TG for quite some time now and have been waiting for the OCZ Vertex 3 (120GB). It is going for about $300 at the moment and i am debating on buying that or something older which would serve as a primary drive in my 4820.

Question: Are there any known issues with drivers or anything if i swap out my primary HDD (320gb) with an SSD? I would like all the same features to be working without any issues if i do a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and then install all up to date drivers from the acer website.

    Any input is greatly appreciated!

OCZ vertex 3 is Sata III so the read and write speeds would be at Sata II. I would get a sata II ssd. I have an ssd with a clean install nothing wrong with it, and using the 640gb in the odd.

I had an early model Crucial 300 in my 3820TG and had data corruption issues. I swapped in an M225 and the problem went away. Since then other owners have used Crucial C300s withiut a problem.
