Just got an Acer Aspire 4720-4538.

Took out the 2GB of memory and popped in 4GB of G.SKILL. Now I only get BSOD's with PFN_LIST_CORRUPT.

They work with just one at a time (2GB), but never with 4GB.

This is supposedly a Santa Rosa based laptop, so why isn't 4GB working? :(

No OS right now. Just put in a WD4000BEVT, empty right now. The Vista installer was BSOD'ing. But with the old hard drive (with OS preinstalled) it gives the same BSOD.

Even Memtest86+ 2.11 crashes when it starts up. Memtest86+ runs fine with 1 stick at a time though.

Doing the same thing with 2GB of G.SKILL + 1GB of the mem that came with the computer.

Bad channels when both RAM are combined? Have you tried updating your BIOS anyway?

Your probably gonna have to return it.

Does this happen for both 2gb gskill sticks?

Turns out this laptop has a GL960. (Intel says 2GB max)

It was labeled as a "GL965 Series" ... I should have looked deeper before I bought it. Oh well though, 3GB is working well enough (bought another 1GB to go with one of the 2GB's). I still have the extra 2GB DIMM just laying around now though. :(
