hello i just purchased the acer aspire 5002 wlmi with the amd turion processor @1.6 ghz 512 mb's of ram a 80 gig hard drive cd/dvd burner and built in wirless and bluetooth. i got this at staples for 849 canadian i think i did pretty good on it. anyways i have a few proplems and i am wondering if they are normal. first is this thing suppost to get so hot? i mean i cant sit with this on my lap cause of the heat. the raised center part that has the windows product key on it is the worst spot it is really hot it heats up the same weather on my lap or sitting on my desk so i know im not blocking the vent. is this going to damage anything or should i take it back to staples and have them look at it. the next question i have is if i tap on the area surrounding the key board lower left palm rest and the bit of trim running up the left side beside the keyboard i get loud springy noise i am wondering if this is sort of normal or if something is loose inside? should i take it in to be looked at. thanks this note book is pretty sweet besides the heat i am happie with everything if i could have one thing different i would change the build quality it seems to be lacking the firm/solid feeling of other similarly priced notebooks. oh yea what type of ram do i need for this note book i would like to upgrade to a gig but im not sure were to look to figure out what i need.

    Update

i have now had this running for a hour and a half now on the battery and it has gotten so hot that i cant really tuch the hot area on the bottem for more then 2 seconds i am going to take this to staples tommorrow and see what they say. i have only been looking at web pages i ran a few super pi tests when i started it up again and then i just surfed the web after they were finished. i got 2 minutes and 9 seconds to 2 million is this good or bad lol thanks for any suggestions i could really use them before i take it back so i can have a decent idea of what is going on here thanks Dj
