there is a switch for BT on the left front of the notebook to the left of the wifi switch. I searched online and I don't see BT listed on it, but it has the switch and I thought the model at office max had BT.

I downloaded the acer drivers for BT for vista but they didn't install. I'm confused

The answer to your question is no the 5100-3357 based on my checks does not have bluetooth (BT)...

Alot of acer machines have that bluetooth switch on the front but don't actually have in a bluetooth module. The easiest way to check is to hit the switch and if it says no bluetooth device then you have none. Installing drivers will make no difference. You could also go into device manager and check to see if there is any device listed if not, you have no bluetooth.
Acer uses the same chassis throughout the 3100, 5100 and 5110 series notebooks therefore all the buttons for the options are there.

Yes but you would have to order the internal bluetooth module from acer then open up your notebook and install it. You will however have to search for the part number for the module as I don't know what it is currently.
You could as an alternative use one of those external USB bluetooth dongles, IMHO that is much easier than tracking down a module and then trying to install it, but it is up to you...
