Last night I installed a brand new 320 gig HDD, and installed XP Pro. I partitioned the HDD.

I got a bit carried away, and did not install the drivers in the order recommended in the Soulpass site. I can't get the HD Audio to work.

I am also struggling with wifi. I have loaded the launch manager, but don't know how I should be applying any settings or configurations.

I am guessing that the best thing to do is start all over again with a clean install of XP Pro.

    Thanks.

hmmm...when I put xp on mine I didn't follow any order of installing the drivers and didn't have any issues...I just ran the installer and let it do it's thing, worked fine afterwards...

OK, did a clean XP install, and now have the audio working. Still can't seem to get the wifi working.

Device manager shows a big yellow question mark on:

    Other Devices Tree
Modem Device on High Definition Audio Bus
    Network Controller

I've tried to install the drivers for these, but no luck.

For some reason, I can't extract these drivers. I have tried other drivers I downloaded in full exe format, but no luck in getting the wfifi to work.

I can remember that I was getting error messages before I first tried to install the wifi drivers that the hardware device was not connected. I just ignored these messages, as I knew the wifi was connected, and had been working perfectly with Vista.

    Anyone???

it may sound stupid... did you tried to turn your wirless deice ON?

I had a similar problem with a different laptop than yours. The wifi in question was an intel. I had to use a different driver to get it work. the latest driver/ProSet from intel although compatable with XP and with my wifi didn't work.

Try other drivers. softpedia is a good place to find them.

I haven't done anything specific to turn it on - I assumed it is all plug and play. What should I be doing?

Just noticed a second problem. When I plug in headphones, the speakers still work and I get no sound in the headphones.
