My mom was having a problem with her laptop so she bought a new one so I got her Aspire 5520 to play around with to see if I can get it working right. So here is what the laptop is doing. It will work every now and then but then you can hear a loud click coming from the hard drive then everything just shuts down. Then when you try to restart it it will start to boot up you can hear it click again and shuts back down and it will continue to do this over and over for a bit then it comes out of it and starts up. It will then work again for an undetermined amount of time and it will do it again.

Like I said I can hear the loud click from the hard drive when it shuts off so that is why i am guessing it is the hard drive that is causing the problem. Just looking to see what others think might be the problem. Also the cd/dvd rom is not recognized anymore even if I pull it out and put it back in. It powers on but the computer just doesn't recognize it anywhere on the computer.
