I got an Acer 5560 a few weeks ago. Aside from an adjustment period (key flicks! Why must you be a default setting? ) it's been going okay. But recently as in the past couple of days or so, it's been having some mild issues with online videos. It occasionally skips and makes these kind of staticky sounds. Not really sure how to describe them.

I am using headphones and can not go without them due to being a night owl/living with other people.

It's not continuous, but it's common enough to be pesky and a bit startling.

I'm pretty stupid when it comes to computers in general so fair warning.

Higher pitches can create those sounds if the headphone jack is not plugged in all the way

It's plugged in and it's not higher pitched sounds that are doing it. It was fine until recently.
