    Hi everyone

i can't seem to boot with the XP setup CD
The Lappy came with Vista and has a D: DATA partition
where i could Install XP and leave Vista alone.

I tried to boot from the XP cd (made sure i set up bios to boot from cd first)
then when I reboot I press the spacebar to initiate the BOOT FROM CD option and the cd spins up like its going to install but instead boots right into Vista.
Ive tried 4 different cds with the same result.
any ideas what might cause this?

Also need to know if i format the drive (including the hidden partion) will i kill the ability to use the ACER recovery DVDs I made the first day?

I really prefer XP but if the install goes to hell I could be left with an $800 paper weight..

Thanx in advance for any advice
