Just tried my DVD drive on my 5672. Dead, makes a few sounds when I stick a DVD or CD in it but will not read anything. Sounds like the drive is not spinning. It will receive and eject the disc. Win XP Pro SP2 device manager says drive is working properly. Tried a CD boot disc, drive would not boot up started loading Win off the hard drive.

Don't really want to send it in to Acer (may have to) any one knows how hard it is to remove? Any 3rd party Slot loading DVD RW drives out there that will fit as a replacement?

    Thanks,
    Pete
