So I found a BIOS v.3239 on the Acer.com (Pan America) driver website. However I don't know if it's for Vista or still XP, the website doesn't specify like the acer europe site did, however that BIOS version is 3234.

So, does anyone know about the Panam acer site with the BIOS v.3239 for vista (or windows7)?

And no I don't need my BIOS updated from the 3234 version, just curious.
    Thanks

LOL sorry SSX4life, I was posting this in attempt to not bother you with more pm's. In any case, it's not that I need to upgrade to this bios, it's just that if for some reason there's a major upgrade or fixes then that's something I'd want to know about.

So far the CPU is running strong, big improvement from the stock T2300!

The standard rule I use with Bios's is the following

    1. If it ain't broke..... don't fix it
    2. Only upgrade if a feature is currently not supported with your model (for example new PXE booting options / new supported CPU's / fixed APCI settings / etc.)

    =)

Thanks again SSX4life for your reply, however please stop replying with the same answer. I DO understand "if it ain't broke, don't fix it", however I also would like to understand the main difference between the two versions of bios that I mentioned.

I really do appreciate your replies. I am only going to upgrade IF it's worth while and there's significant improvements from the previous version. Hence why I'm asking.

I've googled the question I'm asking but haven't found the answer yet. The closest thing I found was something to do with SLIC 2.1 on the 3239 bios.

If anyone knows if the 3239 bios is compatible with Windows7 AND what the improvements are, can you please let me know. Thanks!

You have to ask for the changelog from Acer.
Anyway any Vista Compatible BIOS is Win7 compatible as well.
