Ok, I work at Microsoft and use this laptop at home to RAS in and work off hours (and at work on occasion). I was able to perform a RIS install via the Microsoft Corporate network and install Vista Enterprise and Office 2007. All went well as expected. I had previously ran RC1 Premium.

Also as expected...the web cam has no driver, there is a mass storage device needing a driver as well as an unknown device in the hardware manager.

Everything is running ok otherwise and I was able to load the Acer touchpad driver to enable myself to turn off the tap to click, which always causes me problems.

It is late and I will give a better update soon.

    One funny note:

The Enterprise version has NO games, not even Solitare. I guess we must work, work, work...

i'm using Ultimate.. the drivers for the card reader: use the one that comes for XP, just don't run the setup but instead "update the drivers and point the directory to the place where you unzip the drivers for xp.

for the webcam, just run windows update and you will get the drivers.

After install Vista, i run W.U. and i got all the missing drivers, nothing left.
One question, how did you run the touchpad drivers? for me, the 4 direction scroll pad doesn't work...

Thanks for the heads up. Vista seems to run nicely now.

Hows the Vista Power management, compared to the Acer power management with XP? Can you install the Acer power management in Vista?
I'm tempted to try, but I need the laptop stable for the next few weeks, before I can fiddle with it.

Well I haven't messed with it a lot, but it seems to have even more features than Acers such as turning off USB ports and stuff like that, it is pretty nifty.

Ok, how do you get around the pop-up message about the Touch pad, every time you boot Vista?

"The publisher could not be verified. Are you sure you want to run this software?"

    C:\Program Files\Synaptics\SynTP\SynTPEnh.exe

Unchecking the "Always ask" box does not seem to help.

ATI Catalyst (Beta Display Driver for Windows Vista RTM (32 bit)) ver 8.31.100 caused some serious problems with the laptop. It would boot, but the screen would be black.
Since the account was password protected, I tried to log in.
After attempting to log in, Vista would continue to boot, and the catalyst driver would crash. As soon as the catalyst driver crashed, Vista would display once again (with a warning about the driver).
Removing the driver put the PC back in normal operation.

I found this link to get around the TouchPad error. This may not be the best way, but adding .exe and .msc really helps get rid of those pop-up messages.
"The publisher could not be verified" Work around

Update: The game Prey won't run.
