I have had my acer for about a year now, i have upgraded to vista and i just started to notice that the screen isnt that bright. Are these LCD just not that bright or is something faulty. I have played with the brightness and as far as i can tell everything is cranked. Anyone manage to increase the volume this thing puts out? Thanks for any info, Cheers

my 5672 used to be very low on the volume side, but now it's incredibly loud.

i don't know what exactly fixed it. it could be any number of things that i did or installed over the past year. i do think that loading the slingplayer for my slingbox is a likely possibility. it seems to change the audio configuration when it installs.

my screen is plenty bright. i have a fresh install of xp pro, so i couldn't comment on what effect vista has on the brightness.

I found the brightness to be lower after I upgraded to Vista too, and I think it's a driver issue. When I change the hue in Catalyst Control Center to anything but the default setting of 0, the screen suddenly becomes brighter, but still not as bright as it seemed in XP.
