I've had this laptop for several months now, and have had this problem pretty much since i got it really, but only now has it really started to become tedious.

Basically i will be playing a game such as Call Of Duty: United Offensive Or Call Of Duty 2, and can get very good fps levels, up to 250/300 so i generally get a good performance.

However every so often (sometimes every 10-20 seconds, but sometimes only once a minute maybe) it will lag spike, like wireless lag, but i know it isnt as we have only just got wireless and it did it before. Although it doesnt make these games unplayable, it is distressing when u go to pop round a corner, lag for a second, and find yourself dead.

The laptop often gets pretty hot, but not unreasonably hot, when i game a lot on it, but this doesnt seem to make a lot of difference, it does it when its cool, and when its been on all day.

    Heres My Setup:

Intel Core Duo T2400 1.83 ghz 2MB cache.
    15.4'' screen
ATI mobilitiy Radeon x1600 up to 512 mb hypermemory
    120 GB hard drive
    2GB DDR2 ram

Pretty decent specs, which is evident as i get decent framerates, just this lag spike that does me head in. Any help much appreciated.

    Cheers Chris

I am having the same problem with my Acer Aspire 5100.
    My specs:

    Windows XP SP2
    AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile 1.6 ghz
    1gb ram
    ATI xpress 1100

I didn't have this problem at first, but lately i've been having in-game lag spikes quite frequently.

If anyone has an idea or resolution to this problem, please post.
