    Howdy,

I just purchased the Aspire 5680 and already managed to lose the recovery disc :D

So now i have no recovery disc and no way of accessing the hidden recovery partition.

Thus, I made a clean install with XP Pro; partitioning drives to NTFS.

    Have 2 issues:

    1) Cant find compatible Launch Manager - Tried all Drivers from all Acer Models :(
    2) Cant find driver for Card Reader (FIXED - USED DRIVER FOR 5110)

Have tried all drivers of both from other versions but no luck. SO if anyone out there has the 5680 and burnt the recovery disc, could u please send me the drivers.

For those interested here r my specs:

    *Core 2 Duo T7200
    *2G DDR2 RAM
    *160GB SATA HDD
    *GO 7600 128MB
    *15.4" WXGA (1280 x 800)
*Wireless + Bluetooth + Gigabit LAN
    *1.3 WebCam Integrated + Mic
    *Slot DVD
    *5-1 Card Reader
    *VoIP Phone
    *XP MCE 2006

PURCHASED @ NCIX @ $1823 Canadian (tax inclusive)

PS. Works like a dream....fast + Smooth.....plus doesnt seem to have the HEAT ISSUES!!!! like 5670.........been using for 2 days straight (ON LAP 70%)due to me losing the recovery disc + OS.....and no heat issue

No heat issues huh ? Very nice. Hows the build ? Is it the same as the 5670s ?

Did you try the 5670 drivers for the card reader and launch manager ? They might work.

    Cheers.

Hey Thanx heaps for the link. I couldnt find it myself. Everything is working fine now :)

Only a few things buggin me like how to get the VoIP fone workng properly and minor things.

in regards to battery life.... i average 2.75hrs with normal use. Probably could push it to 3hrs if i used max battery profile.

as for gaming havent had time yet....maybe soon

    cheers
