    Hi,

New here so don't flame me if I posted incorrectly!

Have an Acer 5720g-302g16 which came with a T7300, I just popped in
a T9300 and it seems to be running fine, no BIOS update either. (Should
    I update the BIOS?)

Does anyone have an idea what temp this cpu should average? Everest
reports 50-55c at idle and a max peak of 80c after running a burn in test
    for an hour.

Also I noticed the X2500 GPU is an MXM module, on the motherboard is printed
MXM1, are there any decent MXM1 card upgrades anyone knows of?

    Thx

    Spec as below-

    T9300
    4gb Ram
    MTRON 32gb SSD
    ATI X2500

    what is your current BIOS?

i'd consider the NEWEST available at support.acer-euro.com

    V1.13 according to Everest

I did look at the Acer-euro site but in the drop down vista bios box there were no links/files?

Check out the undervolting guide and the cooling central....

And upgrading MXM-I cards won't give you much punch....will be hard to find a compatible GPU or to flash the VBIOS on an incompatible GPU + it won't be worth it....

Wait for a compatible external GPU or upgrade to a better notebook..!!

Cool, I worked out the MB BIOS, after I realised I needed to have the battery in to do it while on AC power...

Temps now 45c at idle and max 70c after an hour burn in, so looks like BIOS
    was beneficial, thx!

Checked out the cooling guide angad1608, are the above temps ok do you think? I already have Zalman cooling pad (which wasn't on when I got the above temps in both cases).

I don't particually need to upgrade the MXM but as I have no car to modify
currently, I've turned my attention to my laptop...
