I was cleaning my laptop and accidentally activated the Acer Arcade, which I did not know could start through XP. When exiting, it goes into XP hibernation mode. I get a Windows Boot Manager warning saying that something has changed and to use an installation disk. I have tried a number of solutions I have found on various forums including using a recovery disk, etc, to no avail.

My next option is to ALT+F10 and completely restore the system.

I upgraded many months ago from Vista to Window 7 32-bit.

It seems that this is a problem with other Acer laptops, but the solutions for those do not work as the 5739G doesn't have a hold button.

    Any advice?

Welcome to the forums, joomak! I hope we can find an answer for you quickly.

The only way to completely exit out of Acer Arcade Instant-On without causing the hibernation nonsense is to press and hold down the power button. Not that it's documented anywhere...

It sounds like Instant-On caused your Windows 7 Boot Configuration Data (BCD) to go kerplooey.
If you can boot into any kind of fully functional Windows operating system, use EasyBCD to restore the original Win7 BCD.
