I can set it up to be in the green all the time except when downloading torrents. Spikes are rare it depends how long has the os been up, so they get more frequent. They range from 10000us to about 1.5s, so it's pretty noticable on the speakers.
It happens with lan as well as wifi. I have updated intel chipset driver, installed atheros modded drivers for lan, disabled nvidia powermizer (that helped lower the spikes from around 500-1000 to 100-500), windows is completely updated (it happens without the updates also).
Latency monitor shows ndis.sys and tcpip.sys as the cause but as it happens on both adapters it cannot be just the network.
    I have windows 7 professional x64
If anyone can help i am willing to try anything.

yes i have the same problem, I had it in windows7 64bit, but it was somewhat not very noticeable, but in windows 8 beta and cp I cant stand the constant stuter, I cant play any online games

I tried almost everything: disabling audio, wifi, lan - drivers didint help

Ill go back to windows 64bit and if I see the same bad stuter as on windows 8 - ill blame acer

we should check if we get it on linux :)

It turns out it's netlimiter that's causing this. I just uninstalled it and problem solved
    Update:
Now I see that actually there is a problem with ndis.sys and tcpip.sys but the latency is about 2 ms and it occurs rarely. Netlimiter was just making things much worse.
I think for now I can live with latency of 2ms since I don't notice it at all.
Oh, and nvidia kernel mode driver nvlddmkm.sys is having a latency around 0.5ms even though powermizer is disabled, so that would be a problem for nvidia to fix.

How did you find out what was causing the latency?

Well after trying everything else and never thinking about netlimiter someone suggested it so I tried without it. And if you were thinking about how did I see that ndis.and tcpip.sys were the cause you can use latency monitor from resplendence software or windows performance toolkit. The first one is easier to use but i think the second one is more detailed.
