    5749 - won't stay on ??

    Ok .

    So my little brother brought me his laptop , say's he didn't splash any water or anything on it ...

    Thing is when you turn it on , you see the acer logo , goes for boot then shutdown ...

    the laptop stays on for about 10 sec ...

    tried to go into the bios but laptop wont stay on ... with or without the battery ..

    any of you guys would have a idea why it's doing this ?

    Hard drive?
    Try Safe Mode (F8)
    Do you have OS installation disk? Boot Manager may be corrupted. Try reinstalling OS.
    Will it boot from Windows install DVD or Bootable USB stick?

    Won't stay powered on long enough to even try ....

    well i disassemble it and see what i think is some pepsi splash and a good burn smell ...

    HDD and RAM are ok , tested it in another laptop , as for cpu i don't have anything else to try it in ..
