Hi Forum,
Yesterday my Acer Aspire 5920 Gemstone laptop crashed and after the following reboot the Synaptics mousepad didn't react any more to anything.
I have tried to reinstall the drivers, but I keeps not reacting. With a normal USB mouse attached I can work the mouse, so I'm covered if I have an external mouse - but I would very much like to get my mouse back to life.
Any tips and ideas?
Bonus-info: Currently have v. 10.0.15.0 of he firmware installed on Windows Vista SP1.

Try using Synaptics official drivers from their site. They are newer and include better funtionality/stability

Meanwhile upgraded to v. 10.1.8.0 - the most current version - and I still do not have any touchpad.

Your notebook crashed ? Blue Screen of Death ?
Try uninstalling the driver, reboot, and see if the touchpad device is detected or not ? -
OH! Problem fixed. It's almost embarrasing: I just had to hit Fn + F7.
