Got a 5920G on its way for delivery hopefully tomorrow (should have been today) and have noticed it has a infared port.

Does this mean I can use my Harmony remote to control Vista's media player or am I getting excited for nothing?

    Cheers.

If that control has an infra-red emitter, than yes. Only downside to the infra-red port is that you can only use it with remote controls. Not to send stuff via infra-red.

If anyone knew how to create a button on my media centre remote that OPENS media player, much the same way the Media Centre button opens Media Centre that would be much better than having to start media player with a mouse, then use the control to operate it.

Cheers, booted up the Harmony software and entered the 5920G, it came up and programmed the remote without any problems so will wait and see how it performs when the laptop arrives.

Only downside is that I ordered a bluetooth remote off someone in the USA before thinking of this so will have that as well now .. hand for keeping in the express slot should I take the machine anywhere I suppose.
