5920 on Order, What can i Expect???

for £770.00, on buy now start paying next November, and then it on 12months interest free.

I have been told to send it backif it comes with an GS instead of a 8600M GT.

What is the build quality like, how good is the web cam.

What is the Acer software like, Is their any free software.

What is visa like, only use to XP.

Tell me if does not have Nortons installed

Vista is fun! It looks gorgeous and has useful software build in like Windows DVD Maker.

The Acer software isn't bad, but you already got most with Vista. Like Acer has a back up utility, but Vista has one as well. So it's up to you which you like most. The same with Acer Arcarde Deluxe and Windows Media Center.

It has Norton installed, but you can uninstall it right away. The uninstaller is good, you can install another virus scanner afterwards with no problems.

Okay, you're not going to have any problem with vista software wise, I haven't had one application that doesn't work, it's been a while that it's out... The Acer 5920G is a great laptop, great look/build quality, in comparison to about 5 other laptop keyboards I've tried, it has the most satisfying feel to it. The 8600m GT that comes with it is great, it can even run new games like Bioshock. It can play crysis but you'l have to play it with moderate settings, albeit it still looks great.

Now, one thing, if you ARE a gamer, you might want to note that vista causes about a 10-20% decrease in game performance over XP. It is very possible to install XP on this laptop, there are some users who say how to do it specifically here in this forum, and all drivers/apps on the Acer website come in XP flavor aswell so your set. If your not a gamer, then stay with Vista, it's great for every other reason. I myself have kept vista, and am a gamer, and performance is still great with the 8600m gt. But am planning on installing XP as the performance is better. But all in all, this is a great laptop, best bang for the buck I've found... esecially with the HD-DVD player mine came with .

Am I doing something wrong, Acer offers only vista drivers? Please post link where Windows XP drivers for Aspire 7720G (with Ati Radeon HD2600) can be found.
