I was sceptical replacing the internal wireless card, but decided to give it a try (it was only $35) and to my dissappointment I am not getting wireless N speeds (only shows that it's connected at 130 Mbps using 802.11g!) and also it will not work with 5 Ghz signal properly. (I have new Airport Express and 4965 also supports 5 Ghz signal) Here is why:
unlike intel bg card, 4965 abgn card comes with 3 connectors, but when I was replacing the card there was only 2 wires inside the laptop that I could connect the card to. So, I don't know what else to do, anyone has any ideas?.

Don't forget to get the 4-series driver off of the Acer website, and delete the 3-series driver.

here is a pic below, I've connected the intel 4965 card the same way and I am getting Fair/Poor signal with 5Ghz frequency with Airport Express, however when I switch to 2.4 I get full signal (5 bars, 99% connection, 130Mbps). Drivers are updated as well. I've tested download speed and I am getting about 5.5 MB/sec when transferring 1GB file. I've seen other people with 802.11n getting over 8 MB/sec. Any ideas why it's happening then?

I would consider adding the third (middle antenna);

Your antennas are 2.4GHz antennas, so it's pretty logical you get zip in the 5GHz range.
-
if this is true, this basically means, tearing the laptop cover off and the screen and voiding the warranty. I think I'll stick with 2.4Ghz antennas for now and 130 Mbps speed. It looks like it's enough for streaming ripped DVD (4-8 GB) from NAS. I've also tested the connection by downloading 20GB file and had stable connection

hey.. also try checking the Vista settings;

which i got here, which may be of some help, sorry i'm not useing this card yet so i can't compare settings;

yup, I've checked all the settings, but I think you guys are right about antennas. bg card has 2 connectors and agn has 3 (as pictured)
-
As you know... The antenna goes on easily enough... But for warranty purposes, perhaps you could shorten it, and tape it up around the bottom take off cover... May just be enough to do the trick!
-
hm... that's an idea. do you know if these are 5Ghz antennas though?

5Ghz?? mmmm.... I would shoot an email to the seller, as i'm not sure how they cut the antenna's, or even if they are band specific.. They may just all be the same.

Reason i'm asking is that over here in Singapore, we have 2 models, the 320G16 and 320G16N. The N meant that the laptop are installed w Wireless N 4965AGN Wireless Link. "16" represents 160GB Sata HDD. Aren't your's Wireless N equiped ie card w 3 antenns by default? -
it's not my laptop, but it looks exactly the same on the picture. (2 wires, 3 connectors) Anyone with Wireless N can you tell us if you have 2 or 3 antennas?
-
mac pros have only two connector on their cards. i installed one in my macbook pro which have only 2 antennas and it worked just fine. the highest i got was i think 8 megabytes a sec. i will upload a screen shot in a sec.

here you go
thats with 2 antennas on the old macbook pro core duo connected to a dlink dir-655
