OK so my connection manager is always reading 99% connection to my wireless router.

    But:
    - It disconnects regularly & then reconnects straight after
    - Streams youtube, apple trailers etc very slowly, sometimes not at all

Is there anything I can do with the connection manager? Change the Internet options maybe?

My PS3 streams better than this laptop at the mo! :(

Try to update your Intel WiFi Drivers first & set transmitting power to 100%

when the connection drops, take a look in the event logs.
on my laptop it just kept showing windows zero config
was the problem in the logs.
i now use my cards software Broadcom and have switched off windows zero config in services.
just another way of stopping windows playing with your conection :D

Very off-topic but good luck with your exam! I used to be a TEFL teacher (well, guess I'm still qualified) so I know how nerve-wrecking language exams can be, especially if carreer opportunities depend on them! :D

turn power save mode off in the advanced settings for the wifi card.

just had a friend round my house who was having trouble.
his screen saver when it came on was shutting down his connection every 2mins lol

excuse me,,, i can't read all these posts due to the paper on my tounge...

but did anyone suggest changing your ROUTER's BROADCAST CHANNEL,,

maybe to 1, 3, or 11... since most people leave thiers at the default of channel 6 you may be fighting for airwaves on a crowded frequency!!
