Does any know if the 5920G has bluetooth capability? I have a bluetooth "travel" modem I use for work and would like to use it at home, but can't see any bluetooth connectivity on the lappy.

    Tx

Hmm ... appears this laptop doesn't have bluetooth installed. Need some funky little cable that looks like a pain to install!

Well it is a pain in the a**, indeed. You have to dismantle half of your lappy to put it in, but in the end it worth it :D

:err: Mine has bluetooth. AFAIK, the 5920G was in two editions, one with bluetooth and one with the Intel turbomemory. So which one do you have? For me to activate the bluetooth I only have to press the bottom button of the stuck on the left side of the keyboard, it is with the others buttons, email, IE, Wireless.

There are plenty of variations of the 5920G :) It's pretty common to cut here and there in order to reduce the price. Mine didn't have a BT module too, just the button. I bought one from eBay, installed it, downloaded the driver from Acer's site, and even the light comes up :D

I used mine with Sony Ericcson mobile phone. There is an application in it where you can use your mobile as a remote control for the laptop and it is very handy. Especially when you have connected your laptop to your big HDTV and you want to control the media player from your sofa. Just brilliant.

I have the button, but when I press it it simply says "no device". I don't see any device driver for it so I assume it doesn't have blue tooth installed. Debating whether to buy one of the cables from ebay (around $30) and try to install it. Looks like a PIA though.

Well it's not that hard, but you still have to dismantle half of your lappy :D

    You can see here
    bluetooth for acer
    or that one maybe
    acer 7720 bluetooth
but I think it's the same think

It's not very easy to install the bluetooth I think but you can try and open your laptop but for most laptops you have to fully open them not just the bottom cover.

    Hi triturbo

I'm "trying to fir a BT module in my 5720 -but I can't quite get to grips with disassembling the case to fit the BT module. I've searched the forum ( and others) but no success. It's a 5720-602616Mi about 12 months old.

Help would be good ( I've got the module) and I've posted a query but no reply so far :(
