    Hi,

Sorry to ask again. I have a 5920G with the 250gb HD and the HD-DVD with the Nvidia 8600m GS card.

I have just tried to 163.75 nvidia driver with modded inf from laptopvideo2go, but it blue screens when I try to update windows index and also when trying to run Bioshock demo.

Can anyone recommend a more suitable driver?

    cheers
    Andrew

thanks will try that one later, just reinstalling standard driver, and have some work to do!

Also is using uninstall in the device driver option the best way of doing a driver uninstall? Or simply choose roll back to previous driver then install the new one?

#Uninstall the current driver & restart

    #go safe mode

    #Run driver cleaner(guru3d driver sweeper)

    #Run registry cleaner(ccleaner)

    #Restart & Install new driver

I've now installed 169.09 with the modded .inf and it installed fine and I've had no blue screens, but when I run the windows index it rates it at 1.0 and when I right click on the desktop I don't have the nvidia controls option??

Finally worked this out, I had been installing the XP drivers and not Vista, an easy mistake to make on the laptopvideo2go website.

Installed 169.09 all fine. Now I can right click and get the control panel and the bioshock demo works fine.

Performance under windows index is the same.

bigspin, I just got my Acer 5920G-6574 with the 8600 GT installed. I downloaded the latest 169.09 driver from laptopvideo2go. But when i installed it all i did was un-install the original driver in device manager, restart, and then installed the 169.09. I don't currently have any real problems, but should i do it again using the process you listed out?
uninstall, reboot in safe mode, use driver cleaner(i have drivercleaner.net) Registry cleaner(I have CleanMyPC), then install the new drivers?

Also I have SP1 installed is there any other drivers i should get that windows update is not showing me? i.e. chipset, bios, audio, etc?

    Thanks

Always follow above steps when you install new VGA drivers. :)
