I have the Acer Aspire 5920G. Since my laptop is starting to get a bit too warm, I would like to know the steps in cleaning the fan for my laptop. I already got a can of compressed air. Can someone please tell me the exact steps to clean the fan? Thanks a lot

Unless you want to take the outside casing off, I just use compressed air on the underside vents when the notebook is turned off.

So you just shoot into the vent? What if I would like to take the outside casing off? which part do I take off and where do I aim?

Have you removed the panel on the bottom of your laptop before? Should look like this

You should be able to figure out how to take the fan out and blow the dust "out" of the laptop. Not back in.

I tried to open the bottom of the laptop. But I am having a really hard time doing so. I unscrewed all the screws but the cover is not budging. What am I doing wrong?

if you want to uncover all of heatsink, you have to know it's needs to so many unused thermal pads.there is about 2-3mm space between heatsink and chips.only thermal pads can fill that area.
one more important thing is that you have to know, if you try to suddenly
pull heatsink this can damage something.because a screw making push to heatsink.it's on the right below side bottom of the battery (according to above pic)

Sorry, but I don't really understand what you had said. Can someone with the laptop who cleaned the fan before explain exactly what you did? Thanks

To access the intenal laptop components, you have to first remove the back panel.
    1. Remove the nine screws fastening the back panel.
    2. Lift the back panel up as shown. You will need to use a flat tool to pry open the panel starting from the small depression on the left of the panel next to the left most screw.

If you are uncomfortable doing this, take your laptop to be serviced by someone who knows what they are doing.
