I’ve got a tad problem with my acer 5920 , just bought it. Love it but only 1 thing is bugging me. I normally dont keep the battery in as i just move it around in my room . However if i turn off my laptop and turn the mains off and then turn the mains on and the computer on again, The time will reset to the default 2007 time. I thought most laptops have a battery in them to hold time like computers. This does not happen with any of my old laptops, do you guys experience this?

I'm talking about the little coin cell battery on the motherboard, NOT the main laptop battery. Huge difference, and I just wanted to make that clear.

Hopefully, the BIOS battery is user replaceable?

I dont know anymore with technology changing at such a rapid rate.

    Cheers,

Cmos batteries are replacable on all current models. Some have a single battery while others have a set of 3.

Best bet to get a battery from an authorized dealer.
