Hi!
I have heard that this laptop gets hotter than average when doing all sort of tasks. I was wondering is this factor can lead to a shorter life for the laptop. Is that true? Do you reckon it will last 4 years?
thank you. Im a bit worried![]()

I never think it'll last four years
but three years possible
-
whatt??? why not 4 years!!!
-
If you take care of your laptop, aka don't abuse it/drop it/throw it, then there's no reason why it shouldn't last you 4 year and many more.
I have a compaq, toshiba and an ibm from the late 90s, making them over 8 years old.
Don't worry about ur computer, take good care of it, extend your warranty to 3 years and you'll be fine. -
my only concern is about the temperature this laptop reaches... maybe that could cause a short life... couldn it?
-
No it won't.
You gotta realize that today's components are low power mobile ones, compared to years ago when they were simply desktop parts crammed in a laptop.
Can you imagine the heat that Pentium 4s and Athlons created compared to the mobile cpus of today. If you think your Acer is hot, try playing with one of those laptops. -
hm... my 5920G sits permanently under TV, will it last 10 years?
-
I have a pentium4 laptop... ive been playing Rome total war for 1 hour with lots of performance issues
and the temp of the CPU was 69 degrees Celsius... i think the acer 5920 will get hotter... which means a lot...

BTW like adinu said "good care will keep it long time........"
5920G life shorted by temp?
