i had this problem now i don't...i've searched all the web for solutions and i finally found it:

GO TO DEVICE MANAGER -> NETWORK ADAPTERS -> BROADCOM NETLINK.....(IF YOU HAVE A LAN INTERNET CONECTION) -> ADVANCED -> WAKE UP CAPABILITIES -> NONE ....AT POWER MANAGEMENT TAB I'VE CHECKED THE "ALOW THE COMPUTER TO TURN OFF THIS DEVICE TO SAVE POWER" OPTION...
THIS MADE MY VISTA SLEEP WORKING ...NO PROBLEMS TILL NOW
