    hi i cant seen to get my laptop to boot from a cd even though the cd in trying is a bootable one anyone know why?

    Did you change the settings in the Bios to boot to cd?

    if u have acer E technology wizard, go to settings and select Boot option and make CD/DVD driver to boot first.

    Thats the easiest way.

    yes it is set to boot from cd, i used ultimate boot cd to completely format hard drive a now when it boots i get an error saying that the cd is not bootable? i wanted to do a fresh install of XP

    When you boot your computer press alt and f10 to boot from cd.

    Is it a MS cd or a burnt copy?If it's a burnt copy
    then more than likely it was copied wrong.
