    Hi all,

So I've decided to replace the whole screen in my 6920 after a failed attempt to replace the CCFL bulb, but I have mistakenly bought the WUXGA screen instead of a WXGA model. Naturally the screen doesn't work. Digging around notebookreview I've discovered several threads dealing with this problem for the 6930, and they all mentioned the need to replace the LCD cable. Each thread however lists a different part number for the replacement (sometimes a thread has multiple numbers).

So I just want to get this straight, what part number would i need to get for my 6920 for it to work. From what I understood, I need the 50.ASR07.007. Or is this incorrect?

Also, I checked on the underside of my cable, and it says WXGA/WUXGA on it, so why does it not work?

Lastly, where would I be able to find this cable for sale? I've been searching the web and I can only find a few sellers in the UK. I need this part very urgently, and I'm located in Pittsburgh, PA, USA, so a US seller would be ideal.

I would appreciate all the help I could get.

    Thanks,

    Mike
