If yes how do i go about it?

    My brother-in-law has a 6920 with the 1366x768 screen.

When compared side by side to my 1920x1080p screened 6920G, the difference is very noticeable. Certainly more noticeable than it sounds on paper.

Can't help thinking you'd have been better off making sure the 6920 you ordered had the 1080p screen in the first place though.

What's the difference in price between speccing it when you order and buying the screen and bits yourself?

How do a BIG screen fit on a small screen slot?
I mean a 1920x1080 size LCD screen build into a 1366x768 size slot screen?
If you want a bigger screenof AS6920G, you can get AS8920G which is the same model with bigger screen.
However, I do not recommend 8920G/6920G because they have some CPU throttle Issues which remains unsolved until today. Personally, I will suggest you to get 6930G/8930G instead. Or maybe you should choose newer models too.

EDIT: OPs... I thought OP want to replace a LCD LOL. Sorry.
1920x1080 will be better than 1366x768 due to the pixel amount/saturation. It is same 16" but with clearer/sharper images.

thanks for the reply darksilver and big rich, the model I have ordered is AS6920G-583G32Bn.
I've really done my upmost since yesterday to find out as much speccy stuff as possible thats what initially led me here :). i've been told 2 conflicting things thus far one company I rang said it will do 1080i (1366x768) and the other said he was sat infront of his very own AS6920G-583G32Bn and that it was indeed 1080p (1920x1080).
Please could someone find out definitivley which it is?
    thanks.

Its only 1080i its the WXGA(1366x768i) and not the WUXGA(1920x1080p)
So the question still remains can I swop out the screen for a WUXGA(1920x1080p) one?

Actually, 6920G is 16inch laptop. While 8920G is 18inch laptop.
In mathematic calculation physically, AS6920G is 16inch.
In resolution or other calculation(screen pixel saturation?), some AS6920G come with 16inch and 1980x1080 resolution and some with 16inch and 1366x768 resolution.
I am sure the higher the resolution, the sharper the images it projects.
But 9500M GS is not a 1st-Class/high-end GPU, so, you can't have high resolution(fully 1920x1080) on high-end games such as GRID, GTA4, DMC4 and so on. Probably, you can only uses 800x600-1280x720-1360x768(you don't have 1366x768 for 1920x1080 screen AS6920G).
I get this info from my friend who use 6920G with 1920x1080 screen.
    While mine is 1366x768.

again thanks darksilver, i'm mainly refering to hd play back for movies, I will be playing some games I still haven't played crysis, I also have a 360 ixtreme1.6 for games, but I really am into upgrades and thats why I can't wait to get my hands on this 6920 to make some changes cpu first then gpu, and ofcourse the screen, I might even get a 7200rpm hdd, its a bit like modding a car, its great fun.

I just spoke to acer on the phone and he told me that swopping the screen from WXGA to WUXGA is a straight forward like for like swop, no software needs to be tampered with which for me is great news, he just told me to be very careful (lots of tiny screws) which ofcourse i will be. but it does invalidate the warranty.
