Just need a bit of advice about the temps im currently recieving before I rip apart the block for no reason and reapply Arctic Silver 5.

I just upgraded my CPU and had to obviously apply thermal paste onto the CPU and GPU when reattaching the Heat Sink. I have been testing the Idle and Load temps and this is what I have. I have undervolted the CPU also to a steady supply and Im happy with the results just slightly worried if I applied the GPU paste a little too thin as im looking overclock it by about 100mhz to 700/600.

    6920G T8300

    Current CPU Temps:
    Idle
    CPU: 32oc
    Core 1: 18.6oc
    Core 2: 19.2oc
    Full Load for 30 minutes
    CPU: 54oc
    Core 1: 33.4
    Core 2: 32.6

    HD3650 512mb DDR2 600/500

    Current GPU Temps:
    Idle
    GPU: 44-50oc
    Full Load for 30 minutes
    GPU: 66-78oc

Advice on these temps please? Should I look to reapply paste to the GPU to be sure before overclocking or are these good temps for a laptop GPU? Need to also mention this was only applied a week ago so is only about 100 hours into application AS5 says 200 hours to bond.

What is your ambient room temperature? What program(s) are you using for temp measurements? I think your CPU temps are 15 deg C too low, try using RealTemp. GPU temps are normal and within acceptable range.

The readings im getting are from RMclock as I use it to undervolt the CPU. If these are ok I wont bother reapplying it as I thought it was enough just a thin layer to cover the chip.

Is ATItool any good for overclocking the GPU?

All you need is a thin layer - too much thermal compound can actually hamper its performance!
Temps look fine to me. Start panicking when your CPU's in the 80s and your GPU's in the 90s.

Use RealTemp, your temps are too low for the CPU. They are actually 15 deg C higher. You have to modify the RMClock ini file (I also use HWMonitor and modify that file too) to have a +15 (0F in hex) offset. I use ATITool to test my OC since you can see artifacts in their testing very easily, but use RivaTuner (or will use it in a bit since I just formatted) to set profiles. Right now I just edited the Powermizer values in regedit.

Update. I wasnt happy earlier as I ran CPU stress test and a graphics stress test and M/board and GPU hit 80oc and the CPU was reaching 69oc and the computer turned off :( Opened her up and checked the GPU and it appears the plastic cover was over a small part of the GPU from when acer built it. I cut a small piece of the plastic away to allow the entire chip to show reapplied AS5 cleaned the entire motherboard/fan/heatsink and fired her up. Massive difference in temps.

Temps above were pretty accurate Real Temp says im getting now:

    CPU Idle

    Core 1: 20oc
    Core 2: 21oc

However Everest is giving me a 42oc Idle on the entire CPU. Not quite sure which is reading correctly but she is running cool.

    Stressed 30 mins

    Core 1: 44oc
    Core 2: 46oc

    Everest says 56oc

    GPU Idle: 44oc

    GPU Stressed 30 mins: 62oc

Both taken from Everest and GPU-z

One thing im having trouble with is Ati Tool overclocking my GPU. Ive tried AMD GPU Tool but that would artifact straight away with any changes. Im currently running ATI 10.7 drivers and it says this should work with them or do i need lower ones? I hear 11 dont work with overclocking.

Im really inexperienced with overclocking but want to get more out of my GPU especially when my temps are as low as they are.

    Thanks

What is your ambient room temperature? You seem to live in a freezer if your idle temps are 20 deg C. My room temp is 23-25 deg C...
