I spilled something on my 6920G keyboard and now it's totally ed... I use it on the move so using an external keyboard is not an option for the most part. I also need it for my course, so I'm completely ed at the moment.
I need to get a replacement keyboard as soon as I can and I also need to figure out a way to disable the on board keyboard on board when I'm using an external one.
Most of the keyboards on Ebay UK cost £23 with £9 shipping which is an awful lot for such a flimsy keyboard. Is there anywhere I can get one for cheaper? This is really urgent.

Yes I bought a new keyboard for my 6920g from eBay at £14 from a firm in the UK. I will say it is quite a sod to replace but can be done if you take care. I bought a glossy.

Work from the underside with the battery out of course. Take off the back plates and watch which screws come from where. Take out the fasteners and work the keyboard out by carefully lifting up and down. Do NOT force. Watch out for two cables that are sometimes "glued to the kB underside so as not to destroy them . Unplug old KB and put in new one by reverse order. There is nothing hard but be very CAREFULL.

hi again, keyboard just arrived (yep, its a long from china to the middle east). what do you mean by "Take out the fasteners"? does the whole mb come out?
i have taken off the back before to replace the gpu and some screws are longer than others but it doesnt seem to matter which ones go where.
ps. on my first laptop the keyboard could just be "sprung" from the top, no such luck here then -
Got any pics of the keyboard replacement? Also, just wondering if anyone knew how to take out individual keys properly too.
