Absolutely no response from the power button at all when trying to start up. It froze during a chipset driver update, and eventually turned off when the battery ran out...it wouldn't cold shut down via the power button as it (the power button, along with ctrl/alt/del) froze when the system did.

Now, it won't start at all. I've tried the trick about holding down the power button for 20 secs with no battery installed and nothing's working at all.

Any tips? I wanna try resetting the CMOS maybe, but dunno if that'd void the warranty. Also, if I do try and get it warrantied, are Acer likely to **** around for weeks and weeks before I get it back? How would I go about resetting the CMOS if it doesn't void the warranty - it may not be the suggested fix to th problem, but it's always been my first port of call with every PC I've ever built when such problems occur...

If you have warranty, i think you should send it back. They should´nt care about the software so... I think you´ll get it back soon and repaired.
    Best of luck.
