    Hi,

I have a 7720g (T7300/ATI HD2300 variant) and I'm having issues with the amount of noise it is producing. The system will be running with no fan at all and then suddenly I'll get the fan on full blast for up to 30 seconds and then nothing again for a few minutes ... this repeats nearly all the time.

Looking in things like coretemp/speedfan/nhc the cpu cores seem to be sitting at ~43C and there only seems to be a variation of may be 2 or 3 degrees between no fan and full blast fan with nothing in between?

I have tried doing a fresh recovery of Vista from the D2D recovery tool but this has made no difference. I did try upgrading the bios too which made no difference either.

    Any thoughts?

a much older bios may solve that,,, but not many 7720 owners are reporting that kind of problem,,, there is no program that can control any acer fan functions... it's based on temps preset in the BIOS...

if you can bear to part with it, i suggest sending back to acer for repair.... my notebook uses the same BIOS... and i've only heard my fan on high one time... and that was durring a BIOS recovery....

my thoughts are to complain to acer....
