Hi, To be honest mate you only ever hear of products going wrong when people have problems with them. You don't see people writing posts on forums saying 'Hey, My Acer is working brilliantly, I want everyone to know!'

My mother had a Sony Viao notebook and had problems with it, my cousin has a HP notebook and has had problems with it, in reality I would bet that most notebook brands are just as prone to failure as Acer.
This is my 2nd Acer, my other is a 5685wlmi and I have had that for around 18 months with no problems at all. One of the reasons I bought this was because I have had no problems with my 5685.

Don't always go by what you read, some people have a vendetta against Acer it seems.
