Hi all, been looking around and you all seem like a friendly bunch, and I hope you can help!
A friend of mine has an Acer 7730 and I think his WiFi button is broke. Every time he presses it, it spouts a random set or r[]'s when the light flashes (every 5secs ish). It was suggested he had a virus and so a full reinstall was done, but now I've looked at it I think its a dodgy key! The original keyboard has been replaced as I think something was spilt on it, but of course the keys down the left are seperate.
So long story short, he cant get on the internet as pressing the key makes any text go rrrr[[[[[]]]]]] etc etc. Is there anyway to enable WiFi without this button? and can it be replaced?
Thanks
Tom
Sorry its a long post!!!

Acer Launch Manager used to have an option allowing you to set if WiFi is enabled at boot or disabled. If you had it enabled at boot you wouldn't have to press the button so it wouldn't really matter if it works or not.
That said- someone asked about that recently and it seemed like new versions of Launch Manager don't have this setting at all. -
Hi, install the Acer Mobility Center Add-on. it's not listed for the 7730, however it should do the trick. http://global-download.acer.com/GDF...3=TravelMate7530&OS=V10&LC=en&BC=Acer&SC=PA_7
to open Windows Mobility Center : windows-key + x -
Thanks for the reply's! The launch manager didnt have the appropriate key but the Mobility center was what I was looking for. HOWEVER, when we switch the WiFi on, the light on the wireless key on the keyboard starts flashing, and then the problem persists!
Grrr
So does the Mobility center activate the key, or is the problem in the actual Wireless card?
ANY ideas would be most welcome!
