How good is the screen on the 8003 and 8006 laptops? Any problems in general? Performance figures? Is there a large difference between the 1.7 and the 2 ghz dothan. Thanks.

    Look buddy,
this laptop just hit the market plus the 8006 is top of the line and expensive, so I wouldn't expect that many people to respond. If I were you, I would check the threads for Acer in this forum or www.notebookforums.com
I am pretty sure that somewhere on these two forums I have seen a thread on the TM8006mli cause I was close to getting one and also wanted info on it.
I don't have the laptop but from what I have read this is a very fast performer with the screen being its biggest minus. From I have read is that the screen quality (viewing angles and such) is not as high as for the wide-screen 15.4 but is good for the 15.0 class. Everything alse seems to be top notch.
As for whether to prefer a 2.0 Dothan to a 1.7 one my answer is that it depends on your budget. If you can afford the 2.0 without breaking the bank you might want to go for it but don't expect an incredible difference to a 1.7 Dothan. These are both very fast processors so unless you want to brag aroud with your benchmark results, the 1.7 should more than enough for anything you are likely to do with the laptop.
    Hope this helps.
