    Hi,

    I'm running an Aspire 3610, 1.5GHz celeronM, 1.24Gb RAM.

I'm writing this with my CPU temp. at 81 degrees according to NHC and speedfan. This or maybe a bit lower is a normal idle (just web browsing) temperature for my computer. After running any flash content/playing a game for a bit the CPU goes 100% and the temp hits about 85deg then everything starts shuddering and slows down a lot! Hard drive temp is fine and I have the laptop on a desk and elevated a bit to improve airflow. I'm assuming this isn't normal healthy behaviour and I'm at a loss as to why it's playing up.

I've considered undervolting the processor with RightMark, but apparently this is impossible with a Celeron M. Directly accessing control of the fan is also not doable.

The laptop is no longer warrantied and I have had to open it up a couple of times for various reasons, might I have messed something up physically that would have this effect?

Anyone with similar experience / any help would be massively appreciated.

    Nathan

time to open it up and clean out the dust bunnies.... you may even be able to upgrade that celeron to a core duo or some other cooler operating cpu...

my celeron got up to about 78c once, before the CPU swap... anyway removing the fan and heat-pipe and cleaning both out with compressed air helped a whole lot....

    right now my core2duo is @ 38c

    good luck

Thanks, I don't think there's much exciting I can upgrade to. I'll give it a spring clean anyhow.
