Recently i heard..
"Willy is right, that's a lot of money, but I think that's probably due to the specs of the 2.0ghz Core Duo with 2GB of RAM. sadly, it's paired with a pitiful video card. if you're going to buy something, reconfigure it somewhat to match these specs, and look at the Asus model found here:
http://search.ncix.com/displayproductdetail.php?sku=18502&vpn=90NF7A831326501L51&manufacture=ASUS
the specs are similar, so any upgrading you need to do probably will give you something similarly priced, if not cheaper. the 7600 in this book will floor the 1600 in this Acer like it was nothing, breeze past it easily.
if I was buying a notebook and had a big budget, this is what I'd look at!!! that or possibly a D3LL with the 7900, but that's probably quite a bit more than either the Asus or the Acer"
Is any of this true? if so please tell me. as im really interested in the 8204 for 2,400$CDN thanks.

I wouldn't describe the X1600 as pitiful, it runs every game I've tried it with quite happily.
Also check this thread http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=39568 for information about which cards rank where.
Unfortunately NVidia vs ATI will always have some sort of fight, some people swear by one, others swear by the other. Also it depends entirely what you are actually looking for, 7900 (if I recall) only comes in a 17 inch laptop, have you filled in the FAQ to try to get people to give suggestions on what to buy? -
The GeForce G0 7600 is better than the Mobilty Radeon X1600? Since exactly when has it beat the X1600, and what benchmark/game was it? From what I see the X1600 is edging on the Go7800's heels - well in front of the Go7600.
Maybe your source is comparing systems with differing CPU speeds? (i.e 1.67 Core Duo vs 2.16 Core Duo).
8204- Price high, 7600 better?
