    Hi.

When I first purchased my 8930 I ran a 3dmark06 test and got a score of around 5500.
I upgraded the 9600m GT graphics card with the new driver from
    laptopvideo2go.com
    179.13 Vista 32bit

It seem to install ok. When I ran 3dmark06 I only got a score of around 2500.

I then tried a fresh install of my system and I'm still getting the low scores.

Any idea why this is happening? Has the driver done damage to the card?

    Thanks for any info

I don't think the driver damaged the card.
The 179.13 driver I think is not as optimized as the version before it which is responsible for the low score in 3dmardk06 (I've seen a similar case here on the forums).

Try reverting to the earlier version driver (the one right before the newest) and run the score again.

Sometimes, newer drivers aren't the best for your machine.
For example, I'm still on 175.61 b/c 176.37 stunk to high heaven.
