As an aside...could someone explain to me that value to Acer in making it extremely difficult to find exact specs on the various models of their machines? How could this possible benefit them or their customers?

I'm looking for a site that matches exact and detailed specifications to the various gemstone model numbers. I would like this for the both 6935 and 8930 but the 8930 would be the priority. Ie... 8930-6321 vs 8930-6469

For instance, the global site comments that the 8930s screen has a "wide color gamut" but qualifies that by stating that specifications vary depending on model without listing the models. The Canadian site (my location) says that the screen is full HD (WUXGA) with 300cd/m brightness (dual lamp) and list no other options when I already know that there is a lower resolution version and single lamp versions.

The fiasco with the original gemstone models and people being mislead about screen resolution highlights the need for Acer to clearly list the details of each model number.

If this is already available then I will happily insert my foot in my mouth and slink off to the approptiate site! I just haven't been able to find it...

    Thanks for your help!

For a title like AS8930G-944G64Bn you can find some information in it. If i'm not mistaken, 94 is for th t9400, 4G is for the ram, 64 is 640GB harddrive, B for blu-ray and n for the draft-n wifi.
