    Hello everybody,

i'm new here and search the forum for an answer, but not really found it.

I just Bought a Acer Aspire 8930G-664G32mn But when i Play a movie with 5.1 audio the voices comes from te right front speaker (touchpad side) and not from the middle.

So i went to the configuration the realtek one where you can set your speakers and test your configuration.

When i Select 5.1 when and hit test, the centerspeaker light up in the picture but the sound comes from the right, and then when the Rightspeaker lights up the sound comes from the center.

It seems like the center and rightchannel are switched, and i have search al of my configurations to change that but no luck :(

Are there more of you who has this problem and yet better... have anyone of you a solution, that will make me very happy. :D

The only other thing i can think of is that all these models not really have a center speaker but that the centersound is created from the front left and rightspeaker... But i Hope all of you can prove me wrong, and can help me with this problem.

    Thanks
    Greetings

    Celestial

Hi Celestial and welcome to the forum.
As far as I know the 8930G has 5 speakers and one subwoofer so there should be a central speaker. You can check the properties of the sound and see if any of the speakers volume is muted or very low. Right click the sound icon (bottom right) > playback devices > select playback tab > Speakers properties > Levels tab and there you can check the volume of each speaker individually. In there you can also check the balance of the front speakers (left or right) and other things, that's probably what you are looking for. In the advanced tab make sure you have 24 bit 48MHz selected.
Let us know if that was any help

    Hello,

Thanks for your reply, all of those things i allready tried. but no luck.
So i went back to the shop, and we took demo model to listen of the problem also was there.

Well the problem wasn't there with the demo model and it really seems that the model i had, the speakers has been connected wrong.

So i did get an new one, and YES the speakers are good.. :) but Oh No... dead pixels in my screen.. :(

So tommorrow i'm going back to the shop again to switch my model again or to get my money back.

This would be my fourth model i'm getting then.. if they want to switch it again.

    1- Dead Pixels :(
    2- Speakers wrong :(
    3-Again dead pixels :(
    4-

I must say that i have lost al little bit of trust in this model to be a good one :(

Well i will keep you updated..

Wow, you are unlucky. When I had the 8930G I had an overheating problem. I couldn't play games without lag. :/
