    Hi
    I have an 8930G

It has a q9000 processor and geforce 9600M GT (1gb ram) on it.

Can the graphics card be overclocked?

What tweaks do people do to their laptops that are within safe limits?

I just want to get the best out of it. Currently use 32 bit vista home premium (pre installed), someone has said to use 64 bit version so looks like Ill do that. Someone else is giving me a free legit official copy of windows 7 64 bit, is it better to install that or vista 64?

Can the graphics card actually be replaced with a better one or is that not possible on laptops?

    Any advice is appreciated.

    1. Yes, the GPU can be overclocked. Although you should be cautious since you have a Q9000, and I could imagine it might already be hot enough.
    2. It might help to undervolt your CPU. It's a tweak in itself and it's a good one at that. :D
    3. Free legit Windows 7? As in not the expire-in-2010 one? Well, I think it's good.
    4. You could upgrade the GPU in that particular model, just search for the MXM thread here--although it wouldn't be much of an upgrade, I think.

I can overclock my 9600m GT on my 8930g to well over 9700m GT levels without any problems but you will have to keep an eye on temps. I used dox 185.85 drivers and nvidia control panel add on 6.03 and overclocked from there no flashing needed.

How do you overclock things? Do I need to take it apart? No options in the bios to change speeds.

I think the processor Ill leave alone as its pretty decent anyway unless someone says otherwise. How do I do this and what safe limits are there?

My Graphics card is the one with 1GB ram not 512mb. Cheers
