    Hello there Acer fans!
I think I have found my next laptop and its pendling between 8930g and 6935g but I cant decide.
    I know both have 2-3 different speccs but Im thinking 8930g with p8400 (2.26gz) and 6935g with t9400 (2.5).

What do you think about this?
Are you happy with your choise?
Is there any problems you have found?
    Is the heat ok?
    :D

Interesting, but unfortunately I cant find it here in sweden.
Looks good like u say "Best of both worlds" :)
I will contact Acer later :p

And I just saw that the Quad version is incoming in middle january. "8930G-904G100WN".
It has BR-writer, 1000gb, Quad cpu but still 9600gt. But the price 2000 euro isnt fun.

What will be your principal use? If you want some mobility, the 6935G will be lighter to carry than the 8930, the battery life will also last longer. If you are looking for a powerful configuration, the quad on the next 8930 could be nice but the 2GHz may not be enough for some games comparing with some C2D at 2.4 and 2.5GHz.

There's another critics about the 18.4" screen, I've read that the colors was not as they should be, the uniformity of the lightening too comparing to the 16" screen which has better fidelity colors by default.

Actually, I will say the actual High End model 6935G has the best balance configuration ;)

I've had the 6935g for a month(exact model you listed) and tbh am quite disappointed with performance. Not a lot better then the Vaio FW11E I had(P8400/256mb ATI 3470/3GB Ram/250GB Toshiba 5400 drive) which I must say I was surprised about! Both can run Crysis on low settings almost equally well and I much preferred the Sony's 1600x900 resolution to the too small 1920x1080 Acer. You won't really notice the difference when playing blue-ray either on such a tiny screen.
Vista is a total nightmare so windows 7 can't come soon enough and the Acer bloatware which I have yet to uninstall make the laptop very slow to start up, in fact it makes it slow to do just about anything! I ran 3DMark 05 & 06 on both laptops and the scores were very close with the sony actually coming out on top on a few of the test runs! I can't explain this....
The worst part is that I paid £999 in early Dec from Comet and the price is now £849 which would have been easier to swallow. The Vaio cost me £574 in Nov and is way better value, better built, nicer keyboard, lighter by 400 grams but poorer sound granted. The cinedash console is a gimmick and waste of space, far better to have a number pad as I've now found out - it is also poorly fitted and flexes every time you press it!
If I were buying this month I would go for the 6930g/6530g(same thing) with amd cpu 4gb ram/320 gb drive, no cinedash but numberpad instead and only £599 from comet.
One more thing - my laptop runs redhot due to the 7200 drive, hdtune normally between 50-60 C and wrist rest feels hot to touch, fan quite noisy and on all the time + "clicky" hard drive which is a little annoying. The 89 series may be better if you don't require mobility or wait for the quad core prices to fall and for windows 7 to be released if you can wait that long.

What was the resolution of the tests, that you ran? Was it the native resolution of the displays?

no, think it was 1024x768 which should have given a better result...
I'm not too keen on the mousepad either as the cursor tends to jump randomly from time to time(apparently a commen fault - happened on a 6920g I used before as well) and it is a bit small in area compared to the sony fw series but I use an external mouse most of the time so not a great problem - I do like the mouse buttons though, nice and quiet!
It's not all bad though as I still use the laptop every day as I'm beyond the return period - don't want to put you off too much as there are good points as well! I just paid over the odds I guess :(

oh,i didn't know that ...i thought that quad beats anything just because it's quad....so u say that what matters is the frequency? even if there are just 2 procesors instead of 4?
